3 Reasons Chiropractic is the Best Choice for Back Pain- by The Evidence Based Chiropractor
Efficacy- Numerous research studies have shown chiropractic care to be a very effective treatment option for back pain. Over 90% of people will experience back pain at some point in their life. Thankfully, a vast majority of people will not need surgery. However, many will be sent to physical therapy or prescribed medications. Researchers have found that chiropractic care can provide "significantly" superior outcomes when compared to common medications such as NSAID's. Also, chiropractic adjustments have been shown to be clinically superior to active exercise/physical therapy.
Safety- Chiropractic care is extremely safe. To date, there are no studies which show causation of any serious adverse effect after a chiropractic adjustment to the low back. Studies that have looked at the safety of adjusting the neck have shown it to be more safe than taking over the counter medications.
Cost- While the cost of seeing a chiropractic care vary depending upon where you live; studies have found chiropractic care to be extremely cost-effective when compared to other treatments for spine related pain. Additionally, chiropractic care is included on most health insurance plans.
