Building Bridges: Networking Strategies for Chiropractors to Gain More Referrals from Medical Doctors
The Power of Networking with Medical Doctors
As a chiropractor, your ability to network with medical doctors can be instrumental in growing your practice. Forging connections with medical doctors offers a significant opportunity to increase your patient base through referrals. Yet, knowing how to establish these relationships can be challenging.
A surprising statistic from a recent survey reveals that 67% of chiropractors lack the skills to network effectively with medical doctors.
So, how can you bridge this gap and build a strong network of medical professionals? In this article, we'll provide some helpful strategies to help you establish and maintain positive relationships with medical doctors.
Understanding the Benefits of Connecting with Medical Doctors
It's crucial to understand the benefits that networking with medical doctors can bring to your chiropractic practice. By establishing connections with physicians in your community, you can:
Expand your patient base: By receiving referrals from medical doctors, you can increase the number of patients coming through your doors.
Enhance credibility: Working with medical doctors can lend credibility to other healthcare providers and provide social proof that you should be a go-to referral partner.
Gain valuable insights: Networking allows for an exchange of knowledge and insights, which can help you improve your practice and better understand the needs of patients.
Build a referral network: By building relationships with medical professionals, you can access their networks of other healthcare providers, creating additional referral opportunities.
Building Strong Relationships
Now that we've established the benefits of networking with medical doctors, let's dive into some practical strategies for building solid relationships.
Be Genuine
The key to any successful relationship is authenticity, which also rings true for networking. When contacting medical doctors, be genuine and sincere in your intentions. Share your passion for chiropractic care and how you believe it can benefit patients. By being authentic, you can establish a strong foundation for future collaborations.
Strategically, the best way to build referral relationships is with a system that provides the consistency needed for results. Our MD Referral system includes everything you need to be successful in generating more referrals into your practice. The three pillars of our system are sending Case Notes, Monthly Marketing Research Updates, and MD Meetings.
Building Mutually Beneficial Relationships
The key to successful networking is to create mutually beneficial relationships. This means understanding the needs and expectations of medical doctors. It involves demonstrating the value of chiropractic, illustrating how it complements traditional medical treatments, and showcasing how their patients can benefit from your services. This requires clear communication, a keen understanding of your practice, and articulating how medical doctors and chiropractors can synergistically enhance patient care.
Networking Strategies to Implement
But how can you do this? Start by attending local medical conferences and networking events. Make it a priority to introduce yourself to medical doctors and engage in meaningful conversations about your practice. Also, remember the most easiest opportunity to find out who you are already co-managing with- ask your patients! Ensure that your intake paperwork has a place for your patients to enter their primary care doctor information so that you can get more visibility into who you are co-managing with, even if neither of you is aware of the other (yet!).
Maintaining Relationships
Networking is not a one-and-done task. It requires consistent effort to maintain relationships over time. Contacting medical doctors through monthly marketing research updates is the best way to stay on top of mind without feeling cheesy or like you are "selling" chiropractic.
Consider inviting them to your practice for a tour or attend their events to show support for their practice. By staying engaged and interested in the success of medical doctors, you can build a strong network that benefits everyone.
Networking with medical doctors is an essential part of growing your chiropractic practice. By understanding the benefits, being genuine, and implementing effective strategies, you can establish strong relationships that lead to valuable collaborations. Remember to maintain these connections over time.
The Impact of Successful Networking
Implementing these strategies can have a profound impact on your practice. Not only will it lead to more referrals, but it will also elevate your status in the healthcare community. Networking with medical doctors will position you as a trusted and valued partner in patient care, thereby creating a steady stream of referrals and a thriving practice.
Building bridges isn't about a quick fix—it's about establishing long-term, reciprocal relationships that benefit both parties. So start networking today and experience the power of connectivity in your chiropractic practice.

Increasing Your Referral Rates: How Chiropractors Can Network Effectively with Medical Doctors
Understanding the Importance of Networking in Chiropractic Care
In the ever-evolving healthcare landscape, collaborative care has become more than just a buzzword—it's necessary. As a chiropractor, nurturing referral relationships with medical doctors can be your golden ticket to a thriving practice. But why is this multidisciplinary approach so paramount?
For starters, it provides a more holistic approach to patient care. It's no secret that patients benefit when healthcare providers communicate and collaborate. When you network with medical doctors, you can align treatment plans, exchange valuable insights, and ensure your patients receive comprehensive care.
But it's not just about patient care but also business growth. A strong network of medical doctors can serve as a constant referral source, driving new patients to your practice. This is a symbiotic relationship where both parties benefit, fostering a mutual flow of patients.
Here's a surprising fact: A study published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics found that 79% of patients prefer their healthcare providers to collaborate and share information with each other. But shockingly, this is not often the case in reality.
So, let's change that narrative. Let's bridge the gap between chiropractic and traditional medicine. By networking with medical doctors, not only do you enhance patient care, but you also broaden your professional horizons and propel your chiropractic practice to new heights. After all, collaboration is the way forward in modern healthcare. It's time to embrace it.
Strategies for Chiropractors to Increase Referral Rates
In the highly competitive healthcare field, chiropractors often find it challenging to increase their referral rates. Establishing and nurturing referral relationships with medical doctors can significantly enhance your practice's growth and reputation. Here are some tested strategies to help you increase your referral rates.
The first step is understanding your value proposition to a medical doctor. Not all physicians may know the breadth of conditions that chiropractic care can address. Educate them about how your care can complement theirs, reducing their patient's need for medication or surgery and thus improving overall patient satisfaction.
This can happen through MD Meetings or Monthly Research Updates (both of which are part of our MD Referral Program!).
Collaboration is key. Contact doctors in your area and propose joint patient-care programs or discussions about shared patients. This collaborative approach can foster mutual respect and recognition, opening doors for increased referrals.
Most importantly, emphasize patient outcomes. Medical doctors want reassurance that their referred patients will receive top-notch care. Regularly update them about their patient's progress and share testimonials and success stories.
The best way to showcase your results is by sending Case Notes during patient evaluations and re-evaluations. Are you not sure what to send in your case notes? Click here to learn more.
And here's a surprising fact! A study published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics found that 60% of MDs in contact with chiropractors described the experience as positive. This goes to show just how powerful establishing a relationship can be!
Remember, increasing referrals doesn't happen overnight. It requires patience, persistence, and a solid strategy. But with the right approach, you can build fruitful referral relationships that benefit your practice, the referring doctors, and, most importantly, the patients.
Building Effective Professional Relationships with Medical Doctors
Navigating the healthcare landscape as a chiropractor often feels like trekking through an intricate maze. Building robust professional relationships with medical doctors is one pathway with immense potential that is often overlooked. Why, you might ask? The answer is simple and yet powerful - referrals.
A recent study illustrates that over 80% of medical doctors are open to collaborative practices with chiropractors. Yet, many chiropractors remain unsure about how to initiate such collaborations. This untapped opportunity can serve as a goldmine for your chiropractic practice.
Establishing a referral relationship with medical doctors can significantly widen your patient base, enhance your credibility, and expand your practice. But how do you build these relationships effectively?
To recap, the first step is understanding and demonstrating the unique benefits chiropractic care can offer patients. Take the time to educate your medical colleagues about the latest chiropractic research, success stories, and how your expertise can complement traditional medical treatment.
Remember, communication is key. Regularly updating medical doctors about their referred patients' progress can build trust, improve patient outcomes, and reinforce the value of chiropractic care.
Lastly, respect the medical doctors' time and expertise. Show appreciation for their referrals and always approach them as equals in healthcare. This respectful approach can significantly enhance your professional rapport, leading to a long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationship.
In the ever-evolving field of healthcare, collaboration is the future. So, take a leap of faith and extend your professional network into the medical community, for it may be the stepping stone to the success of your chiropractic practice.

Why Your Chiropractic Practice Needs the CerVico2000 Cervical Traction Device
Why Your Chiropractic Practice Needs the CerVico2000
If you have patients with cervical radiculopathy, you've probably recommended cervical traction.
Often, chiropractors recommend antiquated traction technology where the patient is tied, literally, to the door. Or perhaps you've recommended supine traction with an inflatable collar.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have your patients upright, weight-bearing, and performing functional exercise while receiving traction?
With the CerVico2000, you can. And that's just one of the reasons why I believe it's the best cervical traction available today. And why you need to have the CerVico2000 in your chiropractic practice.
How the Cervico2000 Can Help Your Patients
The Cerivco2000 traction unit can improve your patient's ROM by decompressing the vertebral segmental unit. But, it also goes a step further.
Your patients are able to use the Cerivco2000 while weight-bearing and in motion. They can wear it while working on their computer, reading a book, or performing therapeutic exercises in their practice.
It's a comfortable device that helps improve posture with symmetrical and asymptotical traction forces with micro-adjustability so that you can find the exact sweet spot of decompression for each patient.
Instead of filling water or sandbags and hoping that your patients don't under or overdo it with their cervical traction, the CerVico2000 allows the patient to make a micro change to the amount of traction so that they get maximal decompressive forces and, ultimately, the best results possible from the traction.
For patients that believe they may be headed towards injections or surgery because of a disc pathology that causes nerve compression, the Cerivco2000 can be a lifesaver. Developed by an orthopedic surgeon to help provide his patients with the opportunity to avoid surgery, the Cervico2000 is designed from the ground up to be a comfortable and effective solution for cervical radiculopathy.
How the CerVico2000 Can Help Your Practice
One of the benefits of the Cervico2000 is that you can quickly implement it into your practice...today. You don't need to tie up a treatment room to have your patients experience the benefits.
I see a tremendous benefit when a patient can experience traction while performing therapeutic exercises. Not only is this clinically beneficial, but it's also great for operations and revenue. Having your patient undergo traction while exercising maximizes patient flow and square footage. From a revenue perspective, you can generate more revenue in the same amount of time by having your patients exercise while experiencing the benefits of cervical traction.
It's super easy to set up the Cerivo2000. No power, water, or and no electrical power is needed. The traction is provided with small hydraulics on each side of the neck. This allows your patients to custom dial in the amount of traction required on each side. Patients with a left antalgic lean and a right-sided disc issue can adjust the Cervico2000 individually on each side to provide maximum relief.
Also, your patients can be mobile throughout your entire practice while using the unit. Here is a video of the CeriVico2000 in action.
As a chiropractor, helping your patients avoid surgery is priceless. And, with the current opioid epidemic, it's more important than ever to find non-pharmacological solutions to their pain. The CerVico2000 is not the cheapest traction device on the market, but it is the best.
Even though old-fashioned over-the-door traction units may be cheaper, they don't provide the best clinical results.
Using a CeriVico2000 in your practice can provide tremendous clinical results and ROI. Using a "best in class" traction device can be a differentiator in your approach. Additionally, you have various options for monetizing the CerVico2000 in your practice. Some chiropractors choose to have the patients use the device in the office, while others offer a lease/rental program for their patients. Either way, you can be assured that your patients are getting maximum benefits.
Let's face it, cervical traction works. But the future of cervical traction is functional. The Cervico2000 is a unique cervical traction device because of the benefits it provides your patients and the benefits you can experience in your business.

PowerStep Foot Insoles: A Chiropractors Guide
Our feet go through a lot of stress and strain. On average, we walk about 2 miles each day. If you're an athlete then you may be walking/running an average of 5 miles or more…every…single…day. Every one of those steps has the force of gravity and the weight of your body creating a tremendous impact through your feet.
I'm excited to have partnered with PowerStep to offer chiropractors the opportunity to get a free sample pair of orthotics. You can get your free sample at HERE with the code EBC.
With that much impact, it's no wonder that many people end up with foot pain. Additionally, issues with your knees, ankles, hips, or low back can contribute to biomechanical challenges that create pain in your feet.
Foot insoles, or orthotics, are a fantastic way to combat this constant stress. Personally, I use and recommend Powerstep insoles. Developed by a podiatrist over 30 years ago, Powerstep insoles provide me with tremendous support and comfort.
A Case Study: My Father’s Experience with PowerStep
My father has had low back issues (L4/L5 disc pathology) for many years. Foraminal encroachment and spinal stenosis have left him with constant foot pain and neuropathy-like symptoms. It's difficult for him to go barefoot, and walking long distances can be challenging.
Throughout the years, he has worn a variety of different insoles. At most, they helped marginally; at worst, they seemed to aggravate his symptoms.
A few months ago, he began using PowerStep insoles upon my recommendation. The first thing he noticed was the quality of the material, which piqued his interest. Additionally, the support offered by PowerStep insoles was much more robust than any other insoles he had tried. It was clear that these insoles were different and far better than any of the other insoles he'd used over the past ten years. Immediately after putting them in his shoes, he noticed the additional support and felt a noticeable difference. Not only was the support better than he was used to, but it didn't compromise the comfort. Often insoles that have adequate support compromise on comfort. But the Powerstep insoles had an ideal balance of comfort and support.
Since using PowerStep insoles, he has reported a noticeable decrease in daily foot pain and increased ability to walk farther distances. Now, he won't go anywhere without his PowerStep insoles.
I am fortunate to be able to test many different healthcare products. Most of the products that I try are well-meaning but don't make a significant impact on my, or my family's, life. That is not the case with Powerstep insoles.
PowerStep has helped improve the quality of life for my father because of its superior technology and perfect balance of support and comfort. I'd recommend PowerStep insoles to any chiropractor looking to help their patients achieve better clinical results in their practice.
I'm excited to have partnered with PowerStep to offer chiropractors the opportunity to get a free sample pair of orthotics. You can get your free sample at HERE
The other thing I love about PowerStep is that they have done their research. Check out the clinical pearls below to better understand how PowerStep can help your patients find relief from foot pain, back pain, and ankle instability.
PowerStep Clinical Research
PowerStep® is clinically proven to improve foot function.
PowerStep® decreases foot pain and increases the sense of foot stability and mobility over the short term and for at least one year.1
As compared to walking with no orthosis, PowerStep® resulted in a 33.19% reduction in Plantar Fascia strain.16
Compared to two other over-the-counter devices on the market, only PowerStep® exhibited significant decreases, 18.2%, in peak rearfoot eversion.16
After four weeks of use, the majority of PowerStep® users experience a significant improvement in comfort.1
PowerStep® significantly increases comfort regardless of the nature of the presenting complaint.1
By changing frontal plane alignment, PowerStep® significantly changes rearfoot alignment, bringing the rearfoot closer to a vertical position.1
PowerStep® orthotics have been shown to alter frontal plane alignment significantly.1
73% of people still find PowerStep® beneficial after 15 months of use.1
PowerStep® orthotics are an effective, efficient, and economical alternative to custom orthotics in treating plantar heel pain.
Within four weeks of use, PowerStep® is just as effective in reducing foot pain and disability as custom-fabricated orthoses.2
PowerStep® provides a short-term benefit equivalent to custom orthoses at considerably reduced costs.2
PowerStep® is a cost-effective alternative to custom-fabricated orthoses.2
PowerStep® orthotics offer the same therapeutic outcome for heel pain as cast orthoses but are cheaper to supply and can be held as a stock item for immediate supply to the patient, thereby improving the patient experience.3
PowerStep® improves working conditions for employees.
Wearing PowerStep® improves the length of time standing, distance walked, and ability to perform specific tasks on the job.17
Overall pain levels in employees with Plantar Fasciitis reduced steadily with each year of wear.17
PowerStep inserts reduced chronic pain in workers with Plantar Fasciitis when added to work boots or shoes, regardless of type and amount of work performed.17
Foot orthotics can help improve posture control and may help prevent and treat low back pain.
There is moderate evidence to support using foot orthotics in treating chronic ankle instability to help improve postural control.12
Pronated foot function may contribute to low back symptoms in women. Interventions that modify foot function, such as orthoses, may therefore have a role in preventing and treating low back pain.13
Flat-footed individuals benefit from the use of orthotics.
Using a foot insole improves foot alignment and decreases energy consumption of flat-footed individuals during walking.10
There is a significant improvement in symmetry of steps and walking speed with a functional foot orthosis compared to a medical shoe in flat foot children.11
The prescription of a functional foot orthosis with regular shoes might be a good alternative for children with moderate flat feet as orthopedic shoes are heavy and expensive, and most children are reluctant to use them.11
Foot orthotics are effective in treating ankle instability.
There is significant evidence that foot orthotics address mechanical and functional instability of the ankle.14
Foot orthotics have the potential to enhance sensory feedback for improvement of balance and postural control.14
Foot orthotics could address the mechanical components of ankle stability by reducing strain around the ankle's soft tissue structures and enhancing muscular strength for stability.14
Some studies show impressive improvements in balance when combining a prefabricated device with medial posting.14
Researchers attribute positive results with foot orthotics improving postural control to the fact that they optimize the positioning of the foot.14
Efforts to reduce foot pronation are more successful in improving ankle instability than strategies that prevent supination or inversion.14
Foot orthoses may enhance balance and proprioception by stimulating the sensors on the plantar surface of the foot.14
